Popular TV personalities, freelance announcer Minami Tanaka and TV Asahi’s Ayaka Hiironaka, announced their retirement as MCs of the TV Asahi variety show “Azatokute Nani ga Warui no?” (Every Sunday, 11:55 PM) during the broadcast on September 30th.
The program, which started as a one-time special in September 2019, is hosted by three individuals, including Minami Tanaka, Ayaka Hiironaka, and comedian Ryohei Yamazato from the comedy duo Nankai Candies. The show delves deep into the real love affairs and interpersonal relationships of cunning men and women, exploring various strategies for navigating these situations. Following two more one-time specials in 2020, the show became a regular program starting in October of the same year.
During the latter half of the show, both Tanaka and Hiironaka announced their retirement as MCs. Tanaka clarified that it was not a complete retirement, stating, “I will continue to watch over the show.” When Yamazato asked if she would come to his aid if he needed help, Tanaka jokingly replied, “Of course, if Kimura Takuya were to appear…” Yamazato promptly responded, “I won’t contact you for sure!”
Finally, Yamazato declared, “I will remain as an MC.” Starting from October, a new MC will join Yamazato to continue hosting the show.
