The pension reform timetable has been accelerated. The Ministry of Health and Welfare has decided to announce the results of the long-term financial estimates for the national pension, which is the basis for the pension reform, this month, two months earlier than originally planned (March). Measures will be set in September to reform health insurance to save essential medical care by blocking excessive medical practices and strengthening benefits for surgeries and treatments.

He is also pushing to change the law to ban illegal acts by unions, such as forcing them to join unions and making discriminatory demands against other union members. Furthermore, it was decided to introduce a partial system of workers’ representation involving workers of specific occupational groups and professions and to gradually apply the Labor Standards Act to workplaces with fewer than five employees.
President Yoon stressed that the reforms promoted by the government serve no political purpose. President Yoon said, “Flexibility and fairness, the rule of law between workers and managers, safety issues at industrial sites, upgrading these things and turning the wrong things into good sense are all for the good of the people” , he said, “not for any political purpose”. He also stressed that “taxes must be used very effectively in a place where only the people can think” and “never be influenced by politics, elections or factions”.
At the senior secretaries meeting, President Yoon said, “The obsession with vested interests is persistent, and compromise with vested interests is easy and comfortable.” There is no way for us to survive except by reforming,” she stressed.
In the working report of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, citing universal welfare as an example, it was emphasized that “in universal welfare, adequate self-payment (required) should be given and the principle of providing it as a social service, and this should give a virtuous circle of technological development and growth”. He added, “If ideology, politics, elections, etc. have intervened here, it’s hard to play the role of the state to really bless the people.” Universal welfare is the basis of the Moon Jae-in administration’s welfare policy.
