The event also featured Imada Koji (57), Fujimoto Shingo (Oriental Radio/40), Sashihara Rino (30), and Katayose Ryota (GENERATIONS/28).
The fifth season of “Bachelor Japan” revolves around a single successful man, the bachelor, and a group of women with different personalities and backgrounds competing for the position of his partner. The show depicts the love games and raw human drama that unfold through various situations, such as extravagant dates and cocktail parties. The season consists of 8 main episodes and 2 talk specials, totaling 10 episodes.
Hasegawa, a former professional basketball player in the 3-on-3 format, currently runs a variety of health and fitness-related companies as a wellness creator, utilizing his experience as a personal trainer. In the second season of ”Bachelorette Japan,” Hasegawa made it to the final two but fell short of finding “true love.” At the time, his catchphrase was “a growing, timid man.” In an interview video, he mentioned his good qualities as being “kind” and admitted to being shy and lacking much dating experience, stating that he was in the process of “love rehabilitation.”
The setting for this season’s journey is Mexico, and Hasegawa made his entrance accompanied by the performance of Mexican Mariachi music. Hasegawa commented, “Mexico is a passionate country. I usually don’t get excited, but I thought it would be okay to get excited in Mexico.” Fujimoto teased him, saying, “You were definitely excited,” and Imada added, “You were so awkward.” They continued to joke and make Hasegawa laugh.
When asked about his thoughts on being chosen as the 5th bachelor, Hasegawa honestly expressed his happiness, saying, “I was genuinely happy when I was offered the opportunity.” However, he also mentioned that he had just started a new business and had been focusing on it, which made him hesitate. After the previous journey ended, he had distanced himself from romance and devoted himself to his business. But during the previous journey, he was able to confront his feelings about love. He believed that he could face them properly on this journey and find someone to aim for marriage with.
In the second season of “Bachelorette,” Hasegawa showed both kindness and indecisiveness. When asked about the highlights of the upcoming season, Hasegawa said, ”At first, I didn’t seem like a typical bachelor. I gradually struggled with expressing my affection and thought, ‘This won’t work.’ I grew as a person. I can’t reveal the outcome, but I hope you’ll watch it.” He also added, “The women were united…” and chuckled. Imada teased him, saying, “Thanks to you,” which made Hasegawa blush.
Furthermore, Sashihara predicted, “There will be fights on social media in the middle of the season. Which side are you on?” She emphasized that there would be scenes that ignite discussions rather than mean gossip. Fujimoto advised Hasegawa, “Stay mentally strong,” and Imada recommended, ”I recommend not looking at social media.” Hasegawa responded with a smile, saying, “I don’t look at social media at all.”
