Irene Cara, the Oscar-winning singer for the title songs ‘Fame’ and ‘Flashdance’, has died at 63 years. He died at his Florida home of an unknown cause.

Cara trained in music, dance and acting as a child and has appeared on stage and television, including appearances in PBS and on Johnny Carson’s “The Tonight Show” at a young age in the 1970s.

But she rose to fame when she was cast in the 1980 musical “Fame”. She initially she was cast as a dancer but later she was written the role of Coco Hernandez and she sang the title track.

He then won a Grammy and an Academy Award in 1984 with the title song for “Flashdance”, the film starring Jennifer Beals as an aspiring dancer.

He continued his dual career in acting and music, appearing in films such as “DC Cab” and “City Heat” and various TV shows. He has also performed in live theater and musicals.
