(GP) At around 9:15 p.m., an attentive witness reported a Smart that was driving serpentine lines. The police called in stopped the 48-year-old in Reutenbergweg and checked him before anything worse could happen. The officers smelled alcohol from the car. A test confirmed that the driver had used too much of it. He had to go to the hospital. A doctor took blood from him. This is now being investigated and should provide information about how much alcohol the man had in his blood. The officers kept his driver’s license. The driver now receives a report.
(HDH) The journey of a 47-year-old at around 9:30 p.m. was not quite as easy. He was driving on Schnaitheimer Strasse. At the junction with Wilhelmstrasse, the man probably didn’t notice that the car in front of him had to stop at the traffic lights. He drove into the Mercedes. The called police smelled alcohol at the Opel driver. A test confirmed the suspicion. The police took him to the hospital. A doctor took blood from him. The 47-year-old had to surrender his driver’s license. The police estimate the property damage at around 2,500 euros.
The police warn: If you drive intoxicated, you put yourself and others in danger and risk your driver’s license. Because alcohol restricts perception, leads to incorrect assessments of speeds and distances, narrows the field of vision and impairs reaction and coordination. This mix is dangerous.
