Ludwigshafen (ots)
Today the previous head of the Ludwigshafen Police Department, Police Director Peter Traub, retired after more than 44 years of police service by Georg Litz.
The 63-year-old was employed by the Rhineland-Palatinate police in 1976 and learned the police profession from scratch. After the initial years in patrol duty in the area of the Neustadt police department, he was promoted to the higher police service and other different assignments in Neustadt and as a specialist teacher in police training in 1986. After studying at the Police Leadership Academy in Münster, Peter Traub was promoted to the higher police service in 2000. This was followed by the management of the Ludwigshafen 1 police station and the police station in Speyer until he became a lecturer in law at the University of the Rhineland-Palatinate Police Department at Hahn Airport in 2007. In 2011 Peter Traub returned to Ludwigshafen and took over the management of the Ludwigshafen 1 police station again.
In November 2015, he was finally made head of the Ludwigshafen Police Department. At the end of May 31, 2021, Peter Traub, a “veteran” and an outstanding manager of the Rheinpfalz Police Headquarters, will be retired. We wish him all the best for this.
At the same time, the new head of the Ludwigshafen Police Department, Police Director Ulrich Koch, was officially appointed to his post by Georg Litz. With the management of the police headquarters, the 47-year-old is taking on a role in the Rheinpfalz police headquarters for the first time. Ulrich Koch joined the police in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate in 1992. After studying at the German Police University in Münster and the subsequent promotion to the higher police service, he was initially head of the police inspections in Ingelheim and Worms from 2008. He then headed the “Leadership and Cooperation” training area at the Rhineland-Palatinate Police College and was deputy head of the training department. Ulrich Koch was most recently in the Ministry of the Interior and Sports in Mainz as a consultant for training and further education and police data protection since 2017.
Due to the pandemic, the change of office took place in a small circle. Authority director Georg Litz thanked Peter Traub for the work he had done. At the same time, he wished Ulrich Koch every success in his new role.
In addition to the common youth department (JuReLu), the Ludwigshafen police department is subordinated to the Ludwigshafen 1 and 2 police stations with the Oggersheim police station, the Frankenthal police station with the Maxdorf police station and the police stations in Schifferstadt and Speyer. The service district of the Ludwigshafen Police Department includes the independent cities of Ludwigshafen, Frankenthal and Speyer as well as the Rhein-Pfalz-Kreis.
