On the night of June 5, 2020 to June 6, 2020, a 28-year-old driver caused a traffic accident at the Speyer interchange. The driver first drove on the A61 in the direction of Koblenz and then at the Speyer interchange on the B9 in the direction of Ludwigshafen. In the transition, when the road was wet, it skidded, collided first with the left and then with the right crash barrier before it came to a stop on the acceleration lane of the B9. Property damage occurred both to his car and to the crash barrier. The total damage is around 3000 euros. During the traffic accident recording, officers from the Ruchheim police station could detect an alcohol odor in the driver. A voluntary breath alcohol test showed a value of 1.4 per thousand. A blood sample was taken from the driver and his driver’s license was secured. Since the driver of the vehicle only has a permanent place of residence abroad, a security deposit was withheld.
