As part of the surveillance of the night curfew, a BMW was checked by the police on Wednesday at 10:45 p.m. in Dudenhofer Strasse. The 38-year-old driver from Speyer was able to detect significant breath alcohol. A breath alcohol test showed a value of 1.1 per thousand. The 38-year-old was therefore forbidden to continue driving and his driver’s license was secured. A blood sample was taken from him and criminal proceedings for drunk driving were initiated. Since the accused could not provide a valid reason why he moved his car in the public traffic area after 9:00 p.m., an administrative offense was reported for violating the night curfew.
