1. Total loss after an accident – Dreieich-Götzenhain

The influence of alcohol is obviously the cause of a traffic accident early on Saturday morning at around 1:25 a.m. on Bleiswijker Strasse in the Dreieich district of Götzenhain. A 24-year-old Mercedes driver from Sprendlingen came off the lane to the right and hit a BMW parked properly there, but was just as uninjured as his two passengers. Both vehicles were totaled, which is estimated at around 35,000 euros. After the blood sample has been taken, the Mercedes driver can now face criminal proceedings.

2. Right of way ignored and driven away – Offenbach

Early on Saturday evening, around 7.15 p.m., a 34-year-old mini-driver from Frankfurt drove north on Schutzbaumstrasse. According to information from several witnesses, she was traveling at significantly excessive speed and did not brake in the areas of intersection with roads with right of way. This is also the case at the intersection with Ottersfuhrstrasse, where a 46-year-old Hyundai driver from Offenbach was about to turn onto Schutzbaumstrasse. To avoid a collision, she had to avoid the woman from Frankfurt, but collided with a tree on the side of the road. The mini driver now braked, stopped briefly, but then suddenly drove away from the scene of the accident, initially unrecognized. Another attentive witness was able to show the alarmed police the abandoned Mini parked in the street Am Michelsee. By interviewing local residents, the officers managed to find the driver in charge in a house. Since there was suspicion of being under the influence of alcohol and / or other intoxicating substances, a blood sample was ordered. The Offenbacher was slightly injured in the collision with the tree and was taken to the Sana Clinic as a precaution. The property damage to the car and tree is estimated at 9,500 euros.
