1. Driven against the lamp post – Rodgau-Weiskirchen

A 58-year-old man from Reinheim (LK Darmstadt-Dieburg) was significantly under the influence of alcohol and drove his VW Beetle on Schillerstrasse in Weiskirchen early on Saturday evening at around 7:24 p.m. At the junction with the main road he turned left, but came off the road to the right and crashed into a lamp post. After a short pause, however, he continued his journey and parked his vehicle after about another 500 meters. The police, alerted by witnesses, were able to locate the person who had caused the accident at his vehicle. Initial investigations on site showed that the attached license plate is not permitted on the VW Bettle. After the blood has been drawn and the driver’s license has been secured, the people of Reinheim await further criminal proceedings. The total damage is estimated at around 20,000 euros.

1. Accident with seriously injured persons – according to Langenselbold / K 861

For an unexplained cause, two oncoming cars collided on Saturday afternoon at 1:39 pm on Kreisstraße 861. A 19-year-old from Hasselroth was driving her Nissan car from Niederrodenbach on the K861 in the direction of Langenselbold. A 19-year-old, also from Hasselroth, was traveling in the opposite direction in his Mercedes car. In a right-hand bend, the young lady left her lane and collided with the Mercedes. She was seriously injured and trapped in her vehicle. After being rescued by the fire brigade, she had to be flown to the BGU Frankfurt by rescue helicopter due to multiple injuries. The slightly injured Mercedes driver was taken to a Hanau clinic as a precaution. To clarify the accident, an expert was called to the scene of the accident by order of the Hanau public prosecutor. The total damage to the vehicles is estimated at around 35,000 euros, the county road was completely closed for almost 6 hours.

2. Control measures for the tuner scene – Hanau / Bruchköbel / Steinheim

On the evening of Holy Saturday, extensive checks were carried out in the service district of the Main-Kinzig police department at the well-known meeting points of the tuner scene. Due to the security service already deployed in the last few days and the structural measures since April 1st, there were no disruptions at the Kinzigbogen shopping center. The checks carried out there led to a relocation of the scene meeting points, which could be determined by educational measures in Bruchköbel (25 cars), Hanau-Wilhelmsbad (50-60 cars) and in Steinheim (15 cars). Corresponding controls were carried out with strong personnel, the focus being on the parking area in Wilhelmsbad. The individual result resulted in three times the expiry of the operating license, the immediate shutdown of a car, 4 notifications of defects and 5 notifications of violations of the mask-wearing obligation. The controls were supported by employees of the approval office.
