1. File reference XY-Spezial: Cold Cases – double murder 21 years ago in Rödermark

(mm) On Wednesday, 8:15 pm, the Second German Television (ZDF) reported in the program “Aktenzeichen XY-Spezial – Cold Cases” in a film about a double murder that happened 21 years ago in 63322 Rödermark and has not yet been resolved could be. In the evening hours of March 25, 1999, the couple Dr. Claus and Zohre Lange were attacked and killed in their family home on Potsdamer Strasse in Rödermark. The perpetrator or perpetrators also stole various items from the house that have not yet been found. This double murder had already attracted a lot of public attention at that time. Despite a special commission “Soko Breidert” formed with 19 officials, the crime has not yet been resolved. For the investigators, giving up is not an option – because murder does not expire!

Chief Detective Stefan Racic will be switched on live from the Offenbach police headquarters in the broadcast to Munich. Please call 069 8098-3456 or any other police station for information.

Note: The poster from 1999 is attached to this report.

2. How won so melted away! Suspected bicycle and old clothes thieves arrested – Langen and Erzhausen

(tl) The joy of the “booty” apparently only lasted briefly in the following case. According to the motto “How won, so melted away”, police officers arrested two men in the act on Monday morning who apparently wanted to illegally buy “new” clothes in Langen. The police patrol spotted a male duo on their patrol trip, which was tampering with a used clothes container in Paul-Ehrlich-Strasse at around 11.50 a.m. One of them is said to have used a “robber ladder” to ensure that the other could reach into the container’s slot. When the law enforcement officers spoke to them, both men, a 55-year-old and a 56-year-old, abandoned their plans. While the older of the two could be arrested on site, the younger fled initially on a bicycle, but after a short pursuit, this suspect was also provisionally arrested. When checking the bicycle, a mountain bike, it turned out, to make matters worse, that it was stolen on the same morning in Ostendstrasse in Erzhausen (Darmstadt). Both the bike and the “fished out” clothes were seized. The men now have to face criminal proceedings on suspicion of attempted or completed theft in particularly serious cases, both because of the bicycle and because of the old clothes. The investigations in both cases are ongoing. In the event of bicycle theft, the police in Darmstadt will receive information on 06151 9693810.

Witnesses had alerted the police at around 7:35 p.m. that there had been bodily harm in Ludwigstrasse at the Kulturhalle and that three people had subsequently driven away in a vehicle. The arriving officers found a 38-year-old man with a tear on the cheek who was being treated in the hospital. The course of events is still unclear.
