(LUE) Late on Wednesday evening, around 10:40 p.m., officers from the Hoya police station checked a moped in the “Vor der Riede” area in Liebenau. During the inspection, a black insurance number was initially found. A closer look, however, showed that it was not a valid insurance license plate from 2020, but a black license plate from 2017, which has long expired. Thus, there was no longer any insurance cover for the scooter. The 33-year-old Romanian was also unable to show a driver’s license on site. Rather, he stated that he had never owned one.
In addition to the prohibition of further travel and the securing of the moped, the Hoya Police Department is now investigating the driver of the vehicle for driving without a driver’s license and compulsory insurance.
