Neuss (ots)

At the Neuss train station, a 25-year-old train passenger reacted on Wednesday afternoon (August 12th), apparently clearly disproportionately to a possible violation of the mask-wearing obligation by another passenger. With the alleged intention of wanting to see the violation of the Corona Protection Ordinance punished, the self-proclaimed “law enforcement officer” tried to prevent the other passenger from leaving the station, ultimately even by drawing a blank gun. Deutsche Bahn employees and the immediately alerted police intervened.

The 25-year-old now has to answer, among other things, for a violation of the weapons law and for suspected threats. The PTB weapon was seized. In addition, an administrative offense procedure was initiated against both parties for violating the mask requirement, because the 25-year-old had not properly put on the mouth and nose protection.
