In the Neuenheim district of Heidelberg last Thursday, around 3:30 p.m., a 96-year-old was cheated by so-called “knife grinders”. The fraudsters rang the bell and asked if she had knives and scissors to sharpen. She then gave a woman some scissors. After a while a man came back with the sharpened scissors and asked for a 3-digit sum of money. The elderly woman paid and the man left with the pretext of getting the change he had left, but did not return.
The scammers could be described as follows:
- Frau: ca. 40 Jahre alt, kräftige Statur, ca. 170cm groß, dunkle Haare, dicke Beine, trug eine braun-beige Jacke und eine dunkle Hose - Mann: ca. 35 Jahre alt, schlank, ca. 175cm groß, kurze dunkle Haare, Halbglatze, trug dunkle Kleidung
Witnesses who can provide relevant information are asked to report to the Heidelberg-Nord police station on 06221-45690.
