On the night of Sunday (October 31), several officers overpowered a 34-year-old man on Wiener Platz in Cologne-Mülheim and took him into custody. Previously, the emergency services were called by residents to a fight with several participants. Upon arrival, the police officers initially had no findings. A short time later, the heavily drunk 34-year-old was noticed, mobbing and pushing passers-by. The attacker reacted to the officials’ speech with mobbing and attacked the police officers. To sober up, the man was supposed to be taken to the police custody in Kalk. During the restraint, the Cologne resident offered massive physical resistance. While driving, he suddenly stopped responding to speech. The officers immediately alerted rescue workers. After a few minutes they found out that the man was allegedly under the considerable influence of alcohol and drugs. Apparently he had fallen into a deep sleep. When he woke up, his aggressiveness had subsided and the rescue workers took him to a hospital as a precaution. The police filed a criminal complaint for resisting law enforcement officers. (jk / kk)
