Due to the renewed snowfall it happened on the weekend in the Black Forest, between 13.03. up to Monday, March 15, 2021, to a large number of traffic accidents.
Due to the snowfall, the B317 was temporarily restricted for heavy goods traffic and snow chains were compulsory.
In addition, several fallen trees were reported on the B317 between Lenzkirch and Holzmatte on March 13, 2021, which had fallen onto the roadway due to the strong gusts of wind.
On Saturday, March 13th, 2021, around 3:33 p.m., there was an accident between two vehicles on the B500 due to the weather conditions. A 26-year-old driver left the lane in a curve area and got onto the opposite lane. An oncoming and properly driving 45-year-old driver had to evade as a result and also got off the lane. A slight collision could not be avoided. The resulting property damage amounts to a total of around 2,000 euros.
Around 5 p.m., another traffic accident occurred on the B317 from Titisee in the direction of Feldberg / Bärental. As a result of the snow-covered lane, a 26-year-old driver turned right off the lane, colliding with the guardrail. The attempt to bring the vehicle back onto the lane resulted in the car skidding and finally sliding to the left across the oncoming lane. There he came to a halt in the unpaved hard shoulder. The property damage to the car amounts to around 3,000 euros.
On Sunday, March 14th, 2021, there was another collision with oncoming traffic on the B500 near Breitnau. A 59-year-old driver skidded in a curve due to the slippery snow and collided with oncoming traffic. The total property damage is estimated at around 10,000 euros.
At 5:23 p.m., a 28-year-old driver slipped on the K4985 in the direction of Titisee-Neustadt and came off the lane. The vehicle overturned and remained lying on the left side of the vehicle. The total damage caused by the accident is estimated at around 4,000 euros.
In the late evening, around 9:14 p.m., a 24-year-old car driver came off the road on the lower town connection, Vordere Schloßäcker, in Titisee-Neustadt and collided with the guardrail. Property damage to the car amounted to around 1,500 euros.
Another traffic accident as a result of the adverse weather conditions occurs around 10:25 p.m. on the B31 in the direction of Donaueschingen. At the height of the exit on the K4965 to Friedenweiler, a 37-year-old driver came off the road with his truck. There was only minor damage to property.
At 10:43 p.m., a 30-year-old driver drove off the B31 onto the K4964 in the direction of Titisee-Neustadt. In the 180 degree curve there, the driver came off the lane and collided with the guardrail. The damage caused by an accident is around 2,000 euros.
In the morning hours of March 15, 2021, further accidents occurred as a result of the snowfall:
At around 8:11 a.m., on the L156, at the junction with Glasbergweg in Titisee-Neustadt, a vehicle driver got into oncoming traffic due to the slippery snow. The estimated property damage amounts to around 10,000 euros.
At around 8:30 a.m., there was a rear-end collision on the L128 / Jostalstrasse, Titisee-Neustadt district, due to the snow-covered roadway. The accident damage amounts to a total of around 10,000 euros.
In the municipality of Löffingen, on Göschweilerstraße in the Reichberg area, a woman driver got into oncoming traffic due to the weather. The total damage is estimated at around 15,000 euros.
Fortunately, nobody was injured in these accidents and only property damage was recorded.
On March 15, 2021, around 8:11 a.m., there was a rear-end collision on the B31, in the Löffingen area. After initial police investigations, the person who caused the accident drove on the B31 in the direction of Donaueschingen and collided with a car in front due to the bad weather conditions. The driver who caused the accident was slightly injured. The property damage amounts to around 8,000 euros.
