On August 28th, 2021, around 6.30 a.m., there was a traffic accident on the L128 in the Kussenberg area in which a cyclist was injured.
A 55-year-old cyclist was driving the road from St. Märgen in the direction of Wagensteig when suddenly two deer crossed the road. The cyclist tried to avoid it, but did not succeed. The two-wheeler fell due to the evasive maneuver and the collision with one of the deer. The man sustained serious injuries. A helmet worn at the time of the accident prevented worse. The DRK took the man to a special clinic in Freiburg for further treatment. The deer ran back into the adjacent forest after the accident.
