(em) On Sunday, August 1st, 2021 the Frankfurt City Triathlon will take place again. In addition, a motorcycle demonstration has been registered for Sunday, so traffic restrictions can be expected throughout the city.
The triathlon begins with swimming at Langener Waldsee and then leads from there by bike over the B44 and the banks of the Main to downtown Frankfurt. Finally, it goes continuously in the direction of the Hauptwache, where the athletes await the finish line.
Due to the event, there will be restrictions in road traffic both in and around Frankfurt.
The following areas will be affected by road closures:
- B44 zwischen Langeneer Waldsee und Frankfurt am Main (Mainkai)
- A3 in Fahrtrichtung Köln, AS Frankfurt-Süd in Fahrtrichtung
Frankfurt
- Stadtmitte (die Zufahrt zum Flughafen Frankfurt am Main ist
möglich)
- A3 in Fahrtrichtung Würzburg, AS Frankfurt-Süd (komplette
Sperrung)
- B43 in Richtung Frankfurt
- Schwanheimer Ufer, Schwanheimer Brücke, Mainzer Landstraße,
Camberger Brücke, Gutleutstraße, Untermainkai sowie Schaumainkai
- Friedensbrücke (in Fahrtrichtung Süden befahrbar)
- Untermainbrücke (in Fahrtrichtung Süden befahrbar)
- Innenstadtbereich
The road closures in connection with the Frankfurt City Triathlon are expected to be lifted in the city center from around 4 p.m.
The motorcycle demonstration is registered for 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The elevator route should run as follows:
Rebstock area, Max-Pruss-Straße, Zum Rebstockbad, Europa-Allee, Emser Bridge, Varrentrappstraße, Theodor-Heuss-Allee, Ludwig-Erhard-Anlage, Senckenberganlage, Zeppelinallee, Miquelallee, Adickesallee, Nibelungenallee, Rothschildallee, Höhenstraße, Habsburgerallee, Henschelstraße, Danziger Platz, Ostbahnhof, Hanauer Landstrasse, Friedberger Anlage, Eschenheimer Anlage, Bockenheimer Anlage, Taunusanlage, Mainzer Landstraße, Platz der Republik, Friedrich-Ebert-Anlage, Ludwig-Erhard-Anlage, Theodor-Heuss-Allee, Katharinenkreisel, Am Römerhof, Schmidtkreisel , Am Römerhof, Max-Pruss-Straße, Rebstock site
The Frankfurt police recommend, if possible, using public transport and bypassing the areas mentioned. If you want to drive to Deutsche Bank Park on Sunday, you should note that the stadium can only be reached by car via the city center and Niederrad.
