(dr) In the night from Saturday to Sunday (02/14/2021), the police arrested a 24-year-old in Fechenheim who had attacked a patrol with a fire extinguisher. Pepper spray was also used.
The employee of a security company reported around 0:30 a.m. that two unauthorized persons were supposed to be in an empty office building on Hanauer Landstrasse. A patrol from the 18th police station then went to the registered address. They finally met two men on the 7th floor of the building. One of them, a 37-year-old, lay asleep in a corner while in the middle of the room a 24-year-old drew attention to himself with a loud roar. With a fire extinguisher in hand, the young man first went in the direction of the officers. However, he first used it to break through the glass of a window behind him. In the further course, he raised the fire extinguisher and moved threateningly in the direction of the patrol. Since he did not stop and showed no reaction to any speech, one of the officers used pepper spray on the man so that a possible attack could be prevented. The officers, who fortunately remained uninjured, immediately put handcuffs on the 24-year-old, who was treated a short time later by the emergency services that had been called. In the meantime, the 37-year-old, who was still sleeping, was woken up by a second patrol and his personal details were determined.
Both men were sent off after the police measures were over.
