45468 MH-Altstadt I: After a suspected street robbery on Thursday evening (April 2) in the old town of Mülheim, the police are looking for witnesses. Around 9:45 p.m. several people approached two girls on the Ruhr promenade. A 15-year-old girl is said to have been massively tackled by the group, consisting of five girls and one boy. The student was insulted, beaten and kicked. The people fled with the girl’s handbag. The ambulance service took the injured teenager to a Mülheim hospital. The 16-year-old friend apparently got away unharmed. A patrol team crossed the path of two 17-year-old girls near the crime scene. When they saw the police, they ran away. The officials managed to catch up with the duo and temporarily arrest them. After being treated as a police officer, the two suspects were taken into the care of their legal representatives. The other participants were able to escape undetected. The investigation team of youth is currently examining whether the arrested girls are actually connected to the crime. The criminal police are looking for witnesses who made observations of the possible events in the area of the Ruhr promenade at the time of the crime.
