45468 MH.-Stadtgebiet: Today, November 9th at 2 pm, Police President Frank Richter opened an exhibition on the subject of “Resistance and persecution in Mülheim an der Ruhr – 1933 to 1945” in the Mülheim an der Ruhr police station.
“Our history is always part of our present. We are happy to offer space for the exhibition here. This gives officials and citizens the opportunity to find out more about the subject,” said Police President Frank Richter.
The association VVN-BdA, Kreisvereinigung Mülheim an der Ruhr eV, is responsible for the exhibition. It belongs to the nationwide association of those persecuted by the Nazi regime – the Association of Antifascists. This was represented by the deputy chairwoman Inge Ketzer. She is pleased that the exhibition has found a place in the former police headquarters on Von-Bock-Strasse. The occasion of the opening is the historical event of the Reichspogromnacht. In this context, the association would like to inform about the time of National Socialism in Mülheim. Citizens in Mülheim have been committed to this topic since 1947.
The head of the police station in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Chief Police Officer Claudia Kretschmann-Schepanski, also took part in the opening and hopes that the colleagues will take the opportunity to take a look at the exhibition.
The exhibition will be open to the public on November 14th and 28th between 1pm and 3pm. The exhibition is free.
