45131 Essen-Rüttenscheid: On Friday morning (September 10th) the 29-year-old dog owner was sleeping outdoors when an unknown man forcibly tore his Border Collie away from him. The alleged perpetrator hit the homeless man, whereupon he was able to flee with the dog.

The German man without a permanent residence slept unsuspectingly next to the footpath in the area of ​​the Park & ​​Ride parking lot, near the bus / train stop Messe Süd / West / Gruga. At around 4:45 am he saw a man standing over him in the dark, who snatched his dog “Gioia” on his leash and tucked it under his arm. The 29-year-old tried with all his might to get the dog back from the suspect.

The violent stranger scratched and hit the terrified dog owner. He injured him slightly and then ran towards the train station with the dog in his arms.

The dog owner ran after the thief, but lost sight of him. With regard to the suspect, it is only known that it is said to be a younger man.
