Lost control – damaged several cars
Schiffdorf. Yesterday morning (06.10.21), around 10:40 a.m., a traffic accident with an injured person in a supermarket parking lot was reported to the police. A 33-year-old woman from Bremerhaven had lost control of her car for reasons that had not yet been clarified and drove into a parked vehicle with such force that it was pushed against the outside wall of the market and two other cars parked next to it. The driver had to be taken to a hospital. The damage to the cars and the building is estimated at over 20,000 euros. Images available

Luck in misfortune – accident on the autobahn comes off lightly
Bremerhaven / A27. A traffic accident on the A27 went off lightly yesterday at noon, around noon. Road works were carried out between the Bremerhaven-Geestemünde and Bremerhaven-Wulsdorf junctions. The motorway maintenance authority also used a mobile warning board behind a truck. A 43-year-old from the Wesermarsch district collided with this warning sign with his car-trailer team for reasons unknown up to now. Fortunately, all road users involved were unharmed. Cars, trailers and warning boards had to be towed away, the truck remained undamaged. The damage is estimated at 22,000 euros.

Flashing right – turn left or overtake
Wurster North Sea Coast / Dorum. An accident, which was not quite easy from a legal point of view, occurred yesterday on Alsumer Strasse in Dorum. A 53-year-old from Midlum wanted to turn left into Rosengasse. Still, a 24-year-old midlumer wanted to overtake. There was a collision. The case is made difficult by the fact that the young man stated that he only overtook because the woman had blinked to the right. Nevertheless, he is initially seen as the main cause of the accident. The damage to the car is estimated at 7,000 euros.

Rear-end collision – safety distance too small
Geestland / Drangstedt. Carelessness and insufficient safety distance were the causes of a traffic accident yesterday afternoon around 3 p.m. A 48-year-old from Schiffdorf and a 21-year-old from Hagen drove in their cars one behind the other between Drangstedt and Bad Bederkesa. The Schiffdorfer in front had to brake hard because of a wild animal running across the lane. The young woman reacted too late and could no longer brake because of the insufficient safety distance and drove into the car in front. Both drivers were uninjured, the property damage is estimated at 11,000 euros.

Despite driving license “driving without a license”
District. On Wednesday, the Geestland police found two drivers who drove their car with a trailer but did not have the required driving license. First, a 33-year-old from the Verden (Aller) district was checked on Autobahn 27 in the Debstedt area at around 8 a.m. At around noon, a 35-year-old Geestländer was stopped in Elmlohe. Both drivers had to leave their trailer on site. You can expect criminal proceedings for driving without a license. Drivers often ignore the fact that with a class B driving license, the combination of car and trailer may only have a permissible total weight of 3.5 tons. If the combination has a higher permissible total weight, as in the cases described here, the driver must have a class BE driving license.
