The Hoppetenzell department of the Stockach fire brigade was alerted on April 9th, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. in the street Am Mühlbach to Hoppetenzell. Attentive children in the area of the fire station first noticed an unusual smell of fire and were then able to discover a burning dung or compost heap a little further away. As a result, the children reacted perfectly and activated the push-button alarm for the siren at the fire station. They described their findings to the fire brigade members who arrived first.
After a brief investigation on site, the following situation could be determined at the scene of the incident: An approx. 1 m² manure or compost heap burned in the immediate vicinity of a double garage. In the meantime, the owner has made initial attempts at extinguishing. With the rapid attack, the dung or compost heap was extinguished by the fire brigade. In the further course the heap was pulled apart and completely extinguished.
The careful behavior of the children and the courageous intervention of the owner prevented major damage. A Grisu plush key fob was presented to the children as a small token of gratitude and thanks for their correct behavior and the activation of the push button.
The fire brigade did not need to take any further measures. 8 fire brigade members were on duty.
