A traffic accident involving a trapped person occurred on Zeppelinstrasse in Mülheim this afternoon at 4:55 p.m. For this mission, the Mülheim fire brigade deployed with a rescue train, command vehicles and ambulance vehicles. When it arrived at the site, it quickly became clear that much more could have happened here. For reasons that have not yet been clarified, the driver of a car had touched a waiting vehicle at an exit, had encountered oncoming traffic and collided with massive bollards at the tram stop where it came to a stop. Fortunately, no waiting people were injured here. The accident driver was cared for by the ambulance service and could be released from the car via the rear. He was transported to a Mülheim hospital for treatment. The Zeppelinstrasse was closed in both directions for about 1 hour. Bus and train traffic was also restricted. (DHa)
