Tonight, around 9.15 p.m., the Mülheim an der Ruhr professional fire brigade was alerted to a room fire in a multi-storey residential building in the area of Leineweberstrasse. Two fire engines and the rescue service were immediately dispatched to the scene of the incident.
Upon arrival at the scene of the incident, a strong development of smoke was found in the affected apartment on the third floor. A group wearing respiratory protection went into the apartment to fight the fire and was able to quickly locate and extinguish the fire in the kitchen area. The resident was looked after by the ambulance service and was able to remain at the scene of the emergency after an inspection by the alarmed doctor. Finally, a high-performance fan was used to extract smoke from the rooms. The Leineweberstraße had to be closed for the duration of the mission. (TRu)
