This evening around 7:50 p.m. the control center of the Mülheim an der Ruhr fire brigade was informed about smoke development in the roof area of a former school on Fünfter Weg. The fire engines from the Heißen and Broich fire stations and the volunteer fire brigade from Heißen were alerted immediately. When the first emergency services arrived, black smoke could be detected in the roof area.
The object under renovation was searched using two turntable ladders and the source of the fire was quickly localized. Several troops searched the building and were able to fight the fire quickly with little use of extinguishing water.
Due to the careful action of the callers, major damage to the building was prevented. The criminal police have started the investigation into the origin of the fire. During the approximately one and a half hour mission, Fünter Weg was completely closed. (CGü) #fwmh
