At 5:51 p.m. a fire was reported to the control center of the Mülheim an der Ruhr fire department in a commercial operation on Rheinstrasse. The fire department immediately alerted two fire brigades of the professional fire brigade and the fire brigade of the volunteer fire brigade. After arriving at the site, the fire brigade’s forces were received by the employees and described that there had been a fire in the area of ​​a furnace. The first attempts at deletion have already been initiated. A group immediately went into the hall wearing self-contained breathing apparatus with a C-tube. After the furnace was opened by the fire brigade, the fire was quickly extinguished. The extinguished fire was then brought outside and the area was checked using a thermal imager. During the extinguishing measures, the fire brigade of the volunteer fire department ensured basic protection for the urban area.
