(SK) On June 23, 2021, the Ludwigshafen fire brigade was called to a cellar fire in Bertolt-Brecht-Strasse in Oggersheim at 03:28 a.m. Several callers reported heavy smoke and people on the balconies. The first exploratory measures resulted in a cellar fire. The fire caused smoke in the adjacent corridors via the elevator shaft. 25 people were rescued using the turntable ladders and escape hoods via the structural escape route and handed over to the rescue service. Of these, 11 people were taken to adjacent hospitals. The fire was extinguished at 04:32 a.m. There were 29 fire fighters from the professional fire brigade with 8 vehicles, the chief emergency doctor, the organizational manager, the rapid response groups for care and transport, the rescue service and the police. The cause of the fire is determined by the criminal police. During the operation, the city protection was ensured by the volunteer fire brigades Ruchheim, Maudach and Oppau.
