FB, On Saturday, June 12th, 2021, the Ludwigshafen fire brigade was alerted at 02:58 a.m. to a building fire in Ludwigshafen Mitte on Schulstrasse. When the emergency services arrived, the 6th floor of a seven-story residential building was completely exposed to fire gases.
In the course of the investigation, a flat fire was located.
Most of the residents were able to leave the building independently. One resident was first secured and then rescued by the fire brigade using structural escape routes.
Four people were handed over to the rescue service on suspicion of smoke inhalation and transported to nearby hospitals.
The fire was quickly brought under control and extinguished, and extensive smoke extraction measures were required. With the support of THW, the fire debris was cleared from the fire.
The residents of the affected apartment on fire were able to stay with relatives.
For the entire duration of the mission, the city protection was guaranteed by the volunteer fire brigades unit Oppau and city center.
31 emergency services from the Ludwigshafen fire brigade with 10 vehicles, 16 emergency services staff with 8 vehicles, the chief emergency doctor, the organizational head of the emergency service, the THW with crane trucks, and the police with several patrol vehicles were in action.
