A sailboat should have capsized on site and there should be several people in the water. After a short time the lifeboat “Albert Jungheim” was launched and the Hengsteysee was explored. A current saver was also on duty on the boat. At the same time, the Hagen fire brigade was also on site. Subsequently, the boat crew found on site that the sailing boat had capsized at the bridge on Dortmunder Strasse. The Hagen fire brigade responsible there reported that everyone was safe. The rescue operation was then canceled. The fire brigade’s motorboat was lowered into the water with a crane. Unfortunately, a wrongly parked car hindered the measures here. The public order office happened to be on site and picked up the vehicle. “Launching the boat with the crane requires, among other things, a lot of space to support the vehicle. That is why the city of Herdecke has issued absolute no-stopping bans for possible rescue operations. We ask the citizens to comply with this,” said a press spokesman for the fire department. A water rescue train was in action for 60 minutes. A fire brigade vehicle drove directly from the scene of action to initial medical aid in the Nacken district.
