Barbara Heuser has been the new President of the Koblenz Federal Police Directorate since January 1, 2021. She follows Thomas Przybyla, who moved to Hanover. The Federal Police Directorate Koblenz is one of eleven directorates that report to the Federal Police Headquarters in Potsdam. As head of the authorities, Ms. Heuser reports to more than 2,300 employees who are responsible in the federal states of Rhineland-Palatinate, Hesse and Saarland. The 52-year-old is an experienced federal police officer. Most recently she was Vice President of the Federal Police Directorate responsible for North Rhine-Westphalia for many years. The area of responsibility of the Koblenz Federal Police Directorate is not unknown territory for the native of Lower Saxony. She knows this from previous management positions. She also started her career in the Federal Police in Koblenz, which later also took her to Saarland, among other places. “I am looking forward to my new role here in Rhineland-Palatinate, Hesse and Saarland,” said Barbara Heuser. “In times of the pandemic, we as the security authority – together with our partners, are particularly challenged.” The main tasks of the Federal Police Directorate Koblenz concentrate mainly on the areas of railway police and border police. These areas of responsibility are supplemented by property protection in the Deutsche Bundesbank and aviation security tasks at Saarbrücken Airport. The Federal Police Directorate Koblenz is subordinate to the Federal Police Inspections Kassel, Frankfurt am Main, Trier, Kaiserslautern, Saarbrücken, Deutsche Bundesbank, Crime Combat Frankfurt am Main, the mobile control and monitoring unit and 17 federal police stations.
