Already on Friday evening, August 6th at around 9:50 p.m., a 27-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man, intoxicated, climbed onto the roof of the Wiesbaden Ostbahnhof and from there onto an incoming S-Bahn from Offenbach (Main).
The driver of the S-Bahn observed this, acted counter-mentally by having the overhead line switched off and thereby prevented worse.
The federal police arrested the two people and instructed them about the dangers to which they were exposed and the impending consequences of their actions.
The track closure from 9:55 p.m. to 10:40 p.m. led to considerable disruption to rail traffic.
The 27-year-old woman and the 23-year-old man are now threatened with administrative offense proceedings.
The Federal Police pointed out that DB AG overhead lines carry a voltage of 15,000 volts. No direct contact is required to receive a fatal electric shock. It is enough to get too close to the power line, as in this example by climbing on a train.
