″I miss my family. Every day we talk, but it’s not the same″

Afterwards, we knew how to suffer”, sums up Dudu, fixed who contributed directly to the victory by scoring the first goal of the Fafense team. “I was very happy. We have the capacity to do more and better. We’re very united and we’re still going to surprise a lot of people,” promises the 33-year-old.
The team led by António Aires rose only this season to the highest level of national futsal and Dudu points out precisely that fact as one of the factors that explain the club’s difficult start to season.

“The transition from the second division to the first is arduous. We are in an adaptation phase. Many players work and are not professionals. The Placard League is very intense”, guarantees the player, highlighting the evolution of the team along the route already carried out: “We had very bad games, but there were also great games where we didn’t deserve to lose. We are working well and evolving a lot. We needed this victory to give confidence to the group.”

Dudu arrived in Portugal in 2020 to represent the Elétrico. WHEN PLAYING, the station reveals that the idea was to pursue a career in his country, with his family close by. However, a conversation with those responsible for Nun”Álvares changed his mind. “I wasn’t thinking of returning to Portugal, I’m honest. But I spoke with the club and I was really delighted with the project presented”, he concludes.

For Dudu, the biggest difficulty has been living far from his family, who stayed in Brazil. However, the athlete says that it is necessary to chase dreams and make sacrifices. “I miss my family. Every day we talk, but it’s not the same. However, we can’t let our dreams slip away.”

Titles filled with title

Two-time national champion and winner of the Brazilian Cup in two seasons with the Pato Futsal shirt, Dudu has a curriculum filled with titles.
In 2015, the Brazilian won the Club World Cup at the service of Atlântico, in a trophy played against Kairat Almaty, from Kazakhstan. In the same year, and wearing the same shirt, he became champion of the Libertadores Cup by defeating Argentine Boca Juniors in the final. “These are great memories. I’ll never forget those glorious days. It was a dream come true. I thank God, because I’m one of the lucky ones”, emphasizes the Brazilian.

Dudu also reveals that Neto, world champion for the Brazil national team, and Leandro Simi, icon of Brazilian futsal, are the main inspirations in futsal. “I really admire them both. For everything they’ve done and the values ​​they transmit. They are, without a doubt, my biggest references in this sport that I love so much.”
Despite his age, Dudu still feels like a “young man”, revealing that, in the near future, he still aims to win a title in Portugal.
