The chief representative of the six-party talks between Korea and Japan talked on the phone and discussed ways to cooperate with North Korea.
Noh Gyu-deok, head of the Korean Peninsula Peace Bargaining Headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that this afternoon, Japan’s Foreign Ministry’s Asia-Ocean State Commissioner, Funakoshi Takehiro, and the head of the North Korean nuclear delegation in Korea and Japan held a wired consultation.
The two sides recently shared an assessment of the situation on the Korean Peninsula, stably managed the current situation, and discussed ways to cooperate with Korea-Japan and the US-Japan for the progress of the complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and the settlement of permanent peace.
In the future, we have decided to continue close communication and cooperation on the North Korean nuclear and North Korean issues.
