The swing form of Charlie (11), son of Golf Emperor Tiger Woods (45), is so much like his father.
Richie Woods stayed in 6th place, 4 strokes behind the lead, in the first round of the PNC Championship, a golfer family event held at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Florida on the 19th (local time). The major champions each selected one of their families to compete as a team. Matt Kucha took the lead with his son Cameron, 13, with a 14-under par. Vijay Singh (Fiji) tied for third place with his son Cass at 12 under par, Duval team and Lehmann team, and Greg Norman and son Greg Jr. at 11 under par. It was Daly, Furic, Omeara, Thomas, and Trevino teams who scored 10 under par alongside the Woods rich.
Charlie Woods scored an eagle on three par-5 holes, and he was the only player to play this way. He was also the youngest player in the history of the 25-year tournament. Uzne’s first appearance in this tournament was fiercely ahead by catching 8 under pars in 9 holes in the first half, but only adding 2 unders in the second half.
Earlier, Golf Week reported that Joe Jr., son of Woods’ caddy Joe Lakaba, was carrying Charlie’s bag. Lakaba has been caddy with Fred Couples since 1987, and has been carrying Woods bags since 2011. The magazine said that Woods said, “It’s a fun competition, so if Lakaba’s son plays Charlie’s caddy, wouldn’t it be fun?”
Woods’ son, Charlie, has won the children’s district twice this year. It was said that his father was beaten by a joke mixed with jokes to stimulate the opponent during swings and games. Woods also said, “I don’t know how similar Charlie’s swing is to me, but the competitive spirit is our family style.”
