At the 105th National Sports Festival held in Gyeongsangnam-do for 7 days from the 11th to the 17th, the South Chungcheong Province athletes won a total of 226 medals and ranked 5th overall for three consecutive years.

South Chungcheong Province, with 1,916 athletes participating in 49 sports in this competition, won a total of 226 medals, including 60 gold medals, 66 silver medals, and 100 bronze medals, and recorded a total score of 45,977 points.

Gyeonggi-do took first place in this competition, followed by Gyeongnam-do in second place, Seoul in third place, and Gyeongbuk-do in fourth place.

The main players in this achievement were canoeing, hockey, shooting, and horse riding, which achieved overall championships in the disciplines. In the case of canoeing, the team achieved the overall championship for 10 consecutive years and won the National Sports Festival a total of 21 times, and in hockey, the Asan High School hockey team won the championship for 8 consecutive years. It solidified its position as the best in the country.

To ensure that the athletes can participate in the competition in the best condition, South Chungcheong Province dispatched 17 members of the Chungnam Sports Science Center’s conditioning support team to provide sports taping, highly concentrated oxygen support, and pain relief support to help improve performance.

In addition, in this competition, the provincial athletes were honored with the National Assembly Speaker’s Cup Exemplary Athletes Award, which is given to the athletes who are the most exemplary among the 17 provincial and provincial athletes across the country.
