[날씨] Missing in the fall? Heavy rain followed by typhoon-like gusts…temperatures will drop tomorrow

This week it feels like fall is missing.

Following heavy rain exceeding 100 mm, typhoon-like gusts of nearly 40 meters per second struck.

Tomorrow, an early cold spell will arrive in Seoul as the morning temperature drops to 7 degrees.

This is the Sapae Mountain screen installed in Bukhansan National Park.

Trees shake violently from side to side, and CCTV feels unstable.

The wind blew strong, and gusts of up to 25 meters per second at one point blew in areas near the metropolitan area, including Sapaesan Mountain.

It is so powerful that a signboard can fly away or a small tree can fall down.

Even near Sokcho, Gangwon-do, CCTV cameras shake continuously up and down as if an earthquake has occurred.

In this area, stronger typhoon-level gusts were recorded mainly in the mountains.

Strong winds reached 37.7 meters per second in Misiryeong, Gangwon-do and 36.9 meters per second in Seoraksan Mountain.

A ‘strong wind warning’ was once issued in this area due to winds so strong that trees were uprooted and traffic lights were toppled.

In addition, a ‘strong wind advisory’ was issued as strong winds of around 20 meters per second blew on Jeju Island, the coast, and the inland area.

This is a level of strong wind that can only be seen in areas affected by typhoons in summer, not fall.

Strong gusts along the coast and in the mountains are expected to continue overnight and gradually weaken.

However, this time, the strong cold coming from the north is expected to make it difficult to feel fall once again.

Overnight, the morning temperature in Seoul will plummet to 7 degrees (feels 7), the lowest this fall, 3 degrees in Paju (feels 3), 0 degrees in Daegwallyeong (-3), and 2 degrees (0) in Bonghwa.

In some areas, the perceived temperature will remain below freezing, and it is expected that the weather will feel like early winter on the way to work.

In particular, frost or ice will be observed in the inland and mountainous regions of Gangwon, where temperatures are low, and thin ice may form on the roads in some places.

The early cold weather will ease relatively quickly with temperatures returning to normal during the day.

However, for the time being, autumn rains will fall frequently and temperature changes will be large, and the weather will quickly cool down next month due to frequent chills moving south, so the actual autumn-like weather is expected to be very short-lived.
