The International Monetary Fund’s IMF released some revised forecasts for this year’s global economic growth rate.

Compared to the previous forecast released in October last year, Korea’s forecast for this year’s growth rate was slightly increased by 0.2 percentage points from 2.9% to 3.1%.

It is analyzed that the impact of GDP performance in the second half of last year greatly exceeded our estimates thanks to strong exports.

The forecast for the global economic growth rate this year also rose 0.3 percentage points to 5.5%.

Among the major countries, the growth rate forecast for the US and Japan, which introduced large-scale stimulus measures, rose, while European countries such as Germany, France and Italy and China fell slightly.

Korea recorded the highest level in the’combined growth rate’, which looked at how much the economy could recover compared to before the corona crisis.
