On January 4th, 2020 there was a traffic accident in the morning rush hour at 8:06 a.m. on the B9 in the direction of Speyer, as a result of which the Speyer lane had to be completely blocked. A 36-year-old woman from Frankenthal had previously driven on the B9 with her VW Golf and wanted to leave the Oggersheim-West junction at short notice. In doing so, she switched to the exit area too late and drove onto the protective barrier there. The vehicle finally came to an angle on the crash barrier. Fortunately, the driver of the VW was not injured. However, the VW Golf was probably a total write-off. Due to the blocking to rescue the vehicle, there was not inconsiderable traffic disruption.
