1. Police warn of car break-ins, Weilburg, Thursday, June 25, 2020

(si) After the car breaks out in Weilburg over the past few months, officers of the Limburg-Weilburg police department clarified the behavior of the perpetrators on Thursday. For this purpose, the policemen walked through the inner city of Weilburg and the Waldhausen district and looked at what the perpetrators were offered in the public traffic area. It was striking that in many cases it is made easy for car breakers, as the “prey” is often clearly visible in the vehicle as in a shop window. The perpetrators are after everything that looks like easy and high-quality prey. Handbags, purses, cell phones and mobile navigation devices are particularly popular.

The officers discovered nine handbags, two smartphones and ten keys as well as various coins on their way through Weilburg in parked vehicles. In addition, a window was completely lowered in a car, so that it would have been easy for thieves to access the cell phone stored in the vehicle. In addition, 13 vehicles were not locked at all. There would have been plenty of loot for thieves. In a personal conversation and with flyers, the officials pointed out to the car owners the danger with regard to the careless handling of valuables in vehicles. Especially with regard to repeated thefts, drivers are well advised to take all of their items out of the vehicle and lock the car well!

2.Motorcycle inspections in Wilstal, Weilburg, Weilstraße / Kirschhöfer Weg, Wednesday, June 24th, 2020, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

(si) Two displays are the result of a motorcycle inspection on Wednesday in the confluence area of Weilstraße / Kirschhöfer Weg in Weilburg. Between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., a total of 17 motorcycles were checked by the police officers deployed in the Guntersau area and technical changes were found in two of the vehicles. This led to the expiry of the operating license for the affected machines and thus to a notification. In one case, the 19-year-old driver had removed the sound-absorbing elements on both mufflers of the motorcycle and carried them in his backpack. In another case, the officers were made aware of motorcyclists in a nearby forest by a witness. One of the men could then be stopped by the officers off the path. During the subsequent inspection of the 32-year-old’s machine, it turned out that there was no license plate, turn signal and chain guard on the motorcycle and the air filter had also been modified so that the operating license for this motorcycle had also expired. In addition, an advertisement for an environmental offense was made against the 32-year-old for driving into the forest. In addition to the advertisements, the officials also advised motorcyclists about wearing suitable protective clothing when riding their motorcycles, as some of the inspected drivers were traveling on their vehicle with shorts and sandals, which can lead to serious injuries in the event of an accident.

3.Bicyclist escapes after a traffic accident, Elz, Hadamarer Straße, Thursday, June 25, 2020, 8:30 p.m.

(si) On Thursday evening, a cyclist on Hadamarer Straße in Elz fled after a collision with a Mitsubishi. The 54-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi was on the Hadamarer Strasse in the direction of Limburg around 8.30 p.m. when she had to stop at a pedestrian crossing due to traffic. The cyclist riding behind the Mitsubishi noticed this too late and bumped into the rear bumper of the car. After a short argument, the cyclist drove away without worrying about the damage to the Mitsubishi of around 1,200 euros. The fugitive is said to have been about 50 years old, about 1.73 m tall and slim. The man had a southern appearance, short black hair and spoke broken German. The cyclist was dressed in a colorful t-shirt, short checked trousers and sandals. In addition, the man had only a few teeth in the upper row of teeth. Potential witnesses or whistleblowers are asked to contact the Limburg police station on (06431) 91400.

4. Current speed camera report – Attention: Fines catalog regulation changed! The West Hesse police headquarters publishes measuring points for speed monitoring every week. In this context, we would like to draw your attention to the current change in road traffic regulations, which came into force on April 28, 2020. Some of the facts of the Ordinance on Fines Catalog were changed, which among other things also has an impact on the punishment of speeding violations. This has consequences for the amount of the fines and a driving ban is imposed if the speed limit is lower than previously. Driving bans now threaten in urban areas when the speed limit is 21 km / h and out of town at 26 km / h. The aim of the measures is the perception of an effective punishment and sanctioning of traffic violations and thus the creation of more traffic safety for everyone. Below you will find the police measuring point for the coming week:

Thursday: Niederselters, B 8, near bus stop, direction of Bad Camberg

The authorities involved expressly point out that, in addition to the published, there may also be unannounced measuring points.
