On Friday, November 27th, 2020, around 8:30 a.m., a resident of an apartment building on Oberen Hauptstrasse noticed by chance that a wooden window had caught fire. The man smothered the flames in the early stages. The 72-year-old man’s quick action prevented it from spreading to the facade of the house.
Nobody was injured in the fire. The damage to property remained relatively minor due to the rapid intervention of the local resident. According to an initial assessment by the police, this is estimated at around 2,000 euros.
According to the first state of the investigation, a burning candle was forgotten on the outer sill of the wooden window. After the candle burned down, the window frame lit up.
The Löffingen police station has started the investigation and asks witnesses to the incident to call 07651 9336-0.
