As the further investigations of the Staufen police station after the arrest of two suspects showed, they are presumably also responsible for the break-ins in mines in the Münstertal. These are a 15 and a 16 year old young person of German nationality who have not yet appeared to the police. During a subsequent search, one of the young people was also able to find stolen property from a construction site break-in in Münstertal on August 24, 2020, which is why this break-in could also be assigned to the two young people. On the cell phones of the young people there were photos, which were apparently taken in the mine tunnel, showing the mining lamps stolen there. The stolen goods such as mine lamps and crystals could be seized from one of the two.
The deeds were admitted.

Break-in at school – two suspects arrested
Münstertal – In the night from Monday to Tuesday, August 24/25, 2020, around 1 a.m., an attentive passer-by made the police aware of a possible break-in. He had noticed a flashlight in the Abbot Columban School.
The school was approached and surrounded by emergency services from the Müllheim and Freiburg-Süd police stations. During the subsequent search of the school building, two young people were arrested in the school’s computer rooms. They were just in the process of removing the hardware from several PCs, parts of the booty had already been packed and were ready for removal.
According to the current state of the investigation, the two 15- and 16-year-olds had previously pried open a window in the roof of the auditorium. Then they rappelled down into the auditorium using climbing equipment they had brought with them on a climbing rope previously attached to the roof area. The exact amount of damage cannot yet be estimated. The Staufen police station has started the investigation.

- Einbrüche in Bergwerke - Zeugen gesucht -
In July of this year, there were three incidents in the Münstertal area in connection with forbidden excavations or break-ins in mines. So far, two break-ins have been reported, one on July 15, 2020 in the Teufelsgrund visitor mine and on July 27, 2020 in the so-called Wilhelmsstollen. The latter is only approx. 200 m away from the visitor mine. In one case, minerals and inventory items were stolen, in the other case no stolen property could yet be found. However, there was considerable property damage in both cases.
Furthermore, there was an incident in the forest area “Stinkelache / Maisstollen” on July 5th, 2020. Several people were observed by a passer-by, some of whom had gained access to a disused tunnel with heavy equipment. The people are said to have been looking for minerals. In this case, several violations come into consideration, since the crime scene is an excavation reserve.
