Under the aegis of the Düsseldorf police, two burglars who were known to the police were attacked by special forces on Monday in Bergisches. The day before yesterday they had to answer to the judge for joint gang theft. The 54-year-old and his 61-year-old accomplice are in custody. The investigative commission can currently assign eleven acts (break-ins in homes and businesses) to the duo in Düsseldorf, in the Mettmann district, in Bergisch and in the quiet area. The investigations into further crime scenes are ongoing.
After an act at the beginning of December 2020, the specialists from the burglary commissioner’s office obtained information about the two men; a 54-year-old Serb residing in the east of Düsseldorf and a 61-year-old Croat residing in Wuppertal. In the following weeks there were repeated burglaries in Düsseldorf (from Vennhausen to Angermund), in Wuppertal, Solingen, Radevormwald, Essen, Velbert and Ratingen. The perpetrators tampered with apartments, shops and safes. Finally, the suspicion was so substantiated that arrest warrants could be obtained against the two men. On Monday, the investigators struck and arrested the suspects after a break-in in Solingen.
Tools and loot were secured. The 51-year-old is also facing a three-month prison sentence for a proven break-in in Beckum. The investigation continues.
