45468 Mh.-Altstadt: This morning police officers observed a traffic violation at the roundabout on Klöttschen / Heißener Straße. The driver (18, Serbian) of a white Fiat 500 violated the right of way by entering the roundabout in front of a vehicle with right of way.
The police then decided to stop the driver for a check-up.
Without reacting to the signals from the police, the Mülheimer fled first via Sandstrasse to Aktienstraße and then via Friedrich-Ebert-Strasse in the direction of Sedanstrasse.
On the way, the driver collided with a curb, which damaged the tire to such an extent that the escape speed was now less than 30 km / h and with another vehicle. It was only slightly damaged and luckily no one was injured.
The man was arrested without resistance at the stop on Sedanstrasse.
He is suspected of having driven the vehicle without a license and under the influence of narcotics. After taking a blood sample, the Mülheimer was allowed to leave the police station. He also has to answer for endangering road traffic and escaping traffic accidents. (ChWi)
