State Criminal Police Office Rhineland-Palatinate

Mainz (ots)

For the seventh time, the investigative authorities in Germany are taking action against criminal content on the Internet in a nationwide coordinated action coordinated by the BKA. Since this morning, police authorities in all federal states have been carrying out a total of 90 investigative measures, including house searches and interrogations. Investigative authorities in Rhineland-Palatinate are also involved in these measures. Under the leadership of the Koblenz Public Prosecutor’s Office, State Central Office for Combating Terrorism and Extremism (ZeT_rlp), five apartments of five suspects were searched in Rhineland-Palatinate. The reason for the investigation is the suspicion of sedition, public incitement to criminal offenses and the use of symbols of unconstitutional organizations on the Internet. In Rhineland-Palatinate, the State Criminal Police Office is coordinating the measures in Ludwigshafen, in the municipalities of Herrstein-Rhaunen and Höhr-Grenzhausen, in Wittlich and in Mainz. During the searches, evidence, namely cell phones and other data carriers, was seized, which now has to be evaluated. In addition, reference is made to the press release by the Federal Criminal Police Office on the day of hate postings. Link to the press release of the BKA:
