Former Deputy Chairman of the National Expertise Center, Sadvakas Baigabulov, is suspected of corruption, according to Zakon.kz. The Committee for Sanitary and Epidemiological Control of the Ministry of Health reported this.
“On July 14, the Committee for Sanitary and Epidemiological Control reviewed the submission of the Department of the Anti-Corruption Agency of Astana regarding the director of the Zhetysu regional branch of the National Expertise Center, Mankeev A., and the deputy chairman of the National Expertise Center, Baigabulov S. The pre-trial investigation established that Mankeev A. transferred funds to his supervisor Baigabulov S. out of personal interest in order to facilitate his transfer to a similar position in the Almaty region,” the committee’s statement said.
The Anti-Corruption Agency clarified that Sadvakas Baigabulov received a bribe of $2,500 for facilitating Mankeev’s transfer to the Almaty region.
Sadvakas Baigabulov previously held high positions in healthcare. He worked as the head of the Department of Public Health Protection in Astana, the chief state sanitary doctor of the capital, the Pavlodar region, and the chief state sanitary doctor in the transportation sector of Kazakhstan.
By the order of May 18, 2023, he was dismissed from the position of deputy chairman of the National Expertise Center.
