Trainer Zinedine Zidane was especially happy with Sergio Ramos on Thursday after Real Madrid’s 1-0 win over Getafe. Thanks to a used penalty from the captain, ‘De Koninklijke’ took another step towards the championship.
“Ramos is not only our captain on the field, but also beyond,” Zidane said at the post-match digital press conference at Estadio Alfredo di Stefano.
“He has a unique attitude and he transfers it to the rest of the team. I am happy that he took the penalty eleven minutes before the end, because when Ramos gets behind the ball, I always have a lot of confidence.”
It was already Ramos’ fourth hit since La Liga resumed after the corona outbreak. The Spaniard recently replaced Ronald Koeman as the most scoring defender in the Spanish league and experienced another milestone on Thursday with his 450th league match for Real Madrid.

Zidane lacks freshness in attack due to fatigue
