Windows 10 May 2004 started deploying several weeks ago now. Microsoft proceeds step by step so that the PCs concerned are currently only Windows 10 v1903 or v1909.
This approach provides better control over the download and installation process. In some cases restrictions are put in place. Redmond thus limits the risk of failure and bugs pending the publication of a patch. For example, at the editorial level, we have several PCs awaiting validation.
They are under Windows 10 v1909 but the May 2004 Update functionality update is not offered. Known issues are detected. In general this concerns compatibility concerns.
Windows 10 v2004 and the error “parameters not supported”
In other cases, however, the operation is not possible for another reason. The computer does not have the correct setting. An error message indicates that there is a problem with certain parameters. Deployment of May 2020 Update is no longer possible. The message says
“This PC cannot be upgraded to Windows 10. Your PC settings are not yet supported on this version of Windows 10. Microsoft is making every effort to take over your settings. No action is required. Windows Update will automatically offer this version of Windows 10 when these settings are supported. ”
A Microsoft engineer has confirmed this concern while providing a workaround. It seems to resolve the situation and allow an upgrade of the PC. The trick goes through a small modification around Windows Defender.
The engineer suggests updating the hardware drivers and then disabling kernel isolation. The option is located at this address

The trick works but unfortunately not for everyone. In this case there is another solution. Just disconnect the PC from the Internet. Many users on the forums TechNet from Microsoft confirm that it works. Here too, however, it is not perfect. In some cases the procedure fails.
