Even if Windows opens up for other voice assistants, Cortana is still being worked on. The new strategy: Cortana 2 is being further developed from a general language assistant to a productivity assistant. What that means? Forget about playing music or smart home control. Instead, Cortana sends e-mails, manages calendar entries, starts team meetings or opens Windows programs on request.
Technically, Windows 10 2004 turns Cortana into an app, thus removing it from the system. Among other things, this has the advantage that Cortana no longer sits firmly in one place, but can be placed anywhere on the desktop. Simply click on the window title with the mouse and move Cortana.
Operation should become more intuitive, the new Cortana version comes more like a chat client, which not only bluntly processes individual commands, but should also understand the context more and more. You are not necessarily limited to voice input, Cortana also accepts text input. The German version has not yet been rolled out across the board. Microsoft will probably make it to the final release.
